Our People

Meet the people of Dalhousie Medical School

With over 100 teaching sites across Maritime Canada, our people can be found in rural communities, larger urban areas, and everywhere in between. Here, you'll find profiles on administrative staff, faculty and students.

Getting to know us

Our administrative body supports our departments, medical education programs and the academic mission of Dalhousie Medical School. It provides strategic leadership and builds partnerships in our communities, with government and with our affiliated teaching sites.

Our faculty members are part of an academic environment where they not only teach the next generation of physicians, but conduct health research and have access to the latest technologies and treatments.

Our learners are our medical students and residents. With 519 medical students enrolled in the four-year MD program, students experience a mixture of academic and clinical training and participate in community programs across the Maritimes.

And over 600 residents come through our postgraduate medical education program. Practicing in their specialty and subspecialty training, residents are providing a significant proportion of health care throughout Maritime Canada. They're involved in teaching the next generation of doctors and conducting research to improve the overall health of our Maritime communities.
