Education Research

Enriching your understanding of teaching and learning

Medical education research is an exciting area to explore. And we're happy to help you do this the best way possible. We'll show you the various methods and methodologies to use and provide consultation, mentoring, on-line training and faculty development.

Medical education research explores the learning admissions processes, undergraduate and postgraduate education, continuing professional development, program evaluation and many other areas.

Have a question about medical education?

We're interested in supporting your curosity about teaching—what works, what doesn't and what you might do to enhance your own teaching and assessment.

We are committed to enhancing education research and scholarship in the Faculty of Medicine. Check out some of the things we offer you:

  • Consultation:  Interested in medical education research? Want to explore a particular educational issue from a scholarly perspective?  (Examples include: a new approach to clinical teaching, recording observations to our learners' assessments and teaching a particular class.) We are happy to talk to you about how best to do this.
  • Mentoring: Want to do medical education research but not quite sure how best to do it? We'd love to hear from you. We have a wide range of expertise and skills we are happy to share with you.
  • Training in medical education research: Interested in an introduction to the basics of education research? We offer a six-part blended-learning (online and face-to-face) program which can be tailored to meet your needs.
