Making a difference in global health research
Global health research supports the study of health issues in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) in the world and, more broadly, the health, health system, health inequities and health policy challenges facing populations living in conditions of vulnerability.
Canada isn't insulated from the health problems that affect the lives of people around the world—we can't be healthy in an unhealthy world.
Dalhousie faculty members are leading research that contributes to Canada’s ability to meet the needs of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, as well as engaging in Canadian Institutes of Health Research CIHR’s four pillars of health research:
- research respecting health systems and services
- social, cultural and environmental factors that affect the health of populations
