Royal College recognizes Dr. Janice Chisholm’s contributions to CBME

Dalhousie Medical School’s CBME lead, Dr. Janice Chisholm, was among a handful of medical education leaders who received top honours from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada this spring.

She received the 2018 Royal College/Associated Medical Services Donald Richard Wilson Award, given each year to a medical educator who has demonstrated excellence in integrating the CanMEDS roles.

Dr. Andrew Padmos, CEO of the Royal College, announced the awards in April 2018, referring to Dr. Chisholm as “a champion of resident education.”

The announcement noted that, “Her commitment to the integration and teaching of the CanMEDS roles and competency framework is equipping physicians with the attitudes, knowledge and skills required to provide the diversity of care that Canadians need.”
