Professional Well Being
Professional organizations; career support

Residency training requires trainees to fulfill a variety of roles: clinician, teacher, student, researcher and leader.

Recent evidence points to a significant increase in burnout and stress-related illness among Canadian residents who must find a way to balance these professional roles with their personal lives. The Resident Affairs office can help. Residents in difficulty can, in some cases, experience academic performance issues that lead to the need for Formal Educational Learning Plans and professionalism concerns. We encourage you to contact Resident Affairs for assistance and support.
