Annapolis Valley Teaching Site Program
Working together for better health
The Annapolis Valley is not only one of the Department of Family Medicine's newest sites, it's also one of the first in Canada to use the newly approved Triple-C curriculum. Located at the Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, Nova Scotia, the program welcomed their first family medicine residents in July 2012. Each year, four Canadian medical graduates and one international medical graduate will be at the Annapolis Valley teaching site.
Annapolis Valley has both alternative payment plan and fee-for-service family physicians. It offers one of the first, true collaborative practices in Nova Scotia, with six physicians, a nurse practitioner, office practice nurse, dieticians, physiotherapists, and mental health and social workers. It's a team that takes a truly holistic approach to family medicine.
