South West Nova Teaching Site Curriculum
Our integrated program incorporates the Triple C Competency-based Curriculum that is comprehensive, focused on continuity of education and patient care. Throughout your training, you will become a competent, highly skilled family physician who provides comprehensive care for your patients.
The South West Nova program focuses learning primarily in a family medicine setting with family physicians as teachers and mentors in a longitudinal experiential format, rather than the traditional block or rotational format. Clinical experiences include office practices, hospital care (inpatients, prenatal clinic, intra and postpartum inpatient care, outpatients, minor procedure clinics), nursing homes, ER, house calls and assists. The learning is complemented by strong specialist teaching support over longitudinal experiences.
