Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
A one-year fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is currently offered by the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dalhousie University, and the Mental Health Program, IWK Health Centre.
Psychiatric assessment and treatment is offered in a variety of settings, including tertiary care centre inpatient units and specialty clinics, and community settings. The fellow will have an opportunity to train in clinical, teaching and research settings, engaging in a program that is tailored to meet the individual’s interests.
The purpose of the fellowship is to allow the trainee to develop expert-level skills and knowledge in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In its current form, it is not recognized as an accredited program by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Application for accreditation for July 2013 is currently pending.
