You asked, we answered

What can I do with this degree?

Graduates of our program may work in research laboratories, in the pharmaceutical industry, or in government.  They may also go on to apply to Ph.D. programs or to teach at the community college level.  All of these career trajectories of MSc. in Psychiatry graduates have been reported by those administering parallel programs at McGill University and at the University of Alberta.

What is the annual stipend?

For non-physician students, an annual stipend of at least $20,000 will be guaranteed and students with external funding will be topped up to at least this amount.  Prospective students must apply for all external funding for which they are eligible – e.g., NSERC, SSHRC, CIHR.  Note that most applications for funding must be completed well in advance of graduate school admissions – usually in October/November of the preceding year for a September start-date.

When applying to the program, do I need to take the Graduate Record Exams (GREs)?

No. If you have GRE scores, and wish to send them, you may, but they are not required.

Do you have a part-time M.Sc. program?

No, the M.Sc. in Psychiatry is currently only being offered as a full-time program.
