Resident of the Month: Dr. Patrick Rogers
Congratulations to PGY5 DR resident Dr. Patrick Rogers, the latest Maritime Resident Doctors Resident of the Month!
Dr. Rogers was nominated by his peers in recognition of his exceptional leadership, academic achievements, and collegiality.
"He consistently leads by example - frequently taking on additional call shifts or rearranging his schedule to ensure his co-residents can take time off when needed," his nomination says. "He is always the first to welcome elective learners to the group, frequently including them in social gatherings and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment. Dr. Rogers’ commitment to education is evident. He was the recipient of the Dr. A.D. (Bebo) MacKeen Prize (2024), awarded to the PGY3 resident with the highest aggregate score on case quizzes, and was named to the DR Resident Honour Roll for Elective Medical Student Teaching in both 2023 and 2024."
His nomination goes on to say his combination of strong leadership, clinical excellence, and camaraderie makes him an ideal candidate for this award.
"Beyond his impressive clinical knowledge - apparent at teaching rounds - he remains humble and eager to help peers academically and personally. As the group’s former Social Representative (2022–2023), he continues to bring humor and positivity to every event. Despite his many commitments, he maintains an admirable work-life balance—most recently while planning his wedding after maintaining a long-distance relationship through multiple years of residency."
