Michele Archibald

Professionalism Awards Nomination

On behalf of the members of the Chauhan research team in the Retina and Optic Nerve Laboratory, I would like to nominate Michele Archibald for the professionalism award. Michele has been a technician (and much more) in the retina lab since its inception in 1997.
Michele is a very organized individual who takes on numerous responsibilities day-to-day, which she handles with efficiency and class. These responsibilities include supervising lab security access, writing experimental protocols, ordering materials, overseeing student research, as well as offering training and support to all members seeking her knowledge and skills. Notably, she is able to complete all of this while conducting her own research with excellence and consistency.

The most outstanding quality of Michele is that she carries out so many duties, all while exhibiting unwavering professionalism when interacting with her fellow researchers. She has vast scientific and experimental knowledge that she openly shares with the students of our group, as well as those of the other 4 groups in the retina lab. She is respectful, honest and caring, which is likely why so many of us have sought her advice in science and other matters.

Michele deserves to be recognized for all that she does; we are lucky to have her!
