Students and mentors have found it useful to view sample project proposals. These are two proposals that have gone on to be successful projects.
RIM mentors can also encourage research team collaboration (RIM-MicroResearch). In this model, three or more students work on a common research theme, with each student taking “ownership” over their individual research project. The model has proven to be highly successful, with students working collaboratively, exchanging ideas, and encouraging each other. The mentor’s role is to oversee the individual projects and help create a team environment. MicroResearch will provide support for mentors pursuing this collaborative team model, which may include RIM students and other trainees.
