The Faculty of Medicine supports a learner-centred philosophy that provides a positive learning environment and a successful experience for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Research Trainee Advisors
To better support our graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and in response to learner feedback the Faculty of Medicine has created Research Trainee Advisory positions. The role of the Research Trainees Advisors is to communicate with and provide support and guidance to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the Faculty of Medicine. Such supports focus on personal, social, career, and academic planning and wellness-related matters that may impact learners’ studies to facilitate a positive and successful experience in their graduate programs and postdoctoral research training.
Peer Support Network
The Peer Support Network offers peer support for fellow graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the Faculty of Medicine by modelling skills to support positive personal coping strategies and academic success, facilitating self-reflection and growth, building confidence, and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and positive coping strategies. They encourage the access of available resources including health, academic, and administrative services.
