Community engagement

Dalhousie Medicine has developed Valuing Community Guidelines to strengthen equitable partnerships with communities. These guidelines provide direction on recognizing, supporting, and fairly compensating community members for their lived expertise and contributions. They also help guide the meaningful inclusion of community voices within our spaces and support faculty, staff, and learners in building respectful, reciprocal relationships. Together, this work contributes to improving patient care and advancing medical education, research, and service.

Our faculty, students, and staff actively contribute to programs like Volunteer Patient Program, CESL, PLANS, KW, and Francophone Health.

By partnering with local organizations and communities, we create new opportunities for better health outcomes and ensure that our education, research, and outreach efforts remain impactful and socially responsible.
