Dr. Heather Gill, originally from Montreal, completed her General Surgery training at McGill University in 2012. During her residency she earned a master’s degree in public health from Harvard University. She went on to complete her Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center and Weill Cornell Medical College in 2014 where she had exposure to all advanced endovascular treatments including those for aortic pathology as well as carotid, mesenteric and peripheral arterial disease. Her clinical practice as an associate professor of surgery at McGill university included treatment of aortic, peripheral, carotid, and mesenteric vascular disease, as well as AV access work and TOS pathology. Dr Gill was the chief of research for the division of vascular surgery with a focus on outcomes based research. She has won multiple grants and awards for her research into prehabilitation in vascular surgery and has presented at the national and international meetings. Dr. Gill has been very active in Canadian Society of Vascular Surgery, serving as program chair, research chair, president elect, president and is currently the past president. She is also on the Strategic Board of Directors of the Society of Vascular Surgery.
