Dalhousie Pain Colloquia

The Dalhousie Pain Colloquium is a forum for pain researchers, trainees and technical staff to gather to discuss and debate emerging ideas in the field of pain. An additional function of the colloquium series is to create a feeling of camaraderie among participants.

2nd Colloquium
On 1st February 2017, The Dalhousie Pain Network held its second colloquium debate at the University Club. Drs. Mary Lynch and Ian Beauprie debated the premise that “Prescription opioids are an important means of treating chronic non-cancer pain”. The discussion was lively, thought-provoking and collegial. The event was very well attended by researchers, clinicians, trainees and members of the public. While no definitive answer was arrived at, the audience went away a lot wiser and had a much better appreciation of this complicated and contentious issue. View the poster [PDF - 189 kB].
