Our Services

Quick and accessible assessment and treatment

Although psychoses are serious disorders, they are treatable. At the Nova Scotia Early Psychosis Program (NSEPP), we know that early detection and treatment can result in recovery. Because of this, we work hard to provide quick and accessible assessment and treatment.

Our program helps young people experiencing their first episode of psychosis by offering a specialized, community-focused mental health program with four main components:

Clinical services: We offer a range of individualized clinical services for young people experiencing a first episode of psychosis, as well as their families.

Education: Our educational services are available to physicians, mental health care professionals, educators, community agencies and the general public.

Research: We maintain an active evaluation and research program, with a strong focus on advancing knowledge about psychosis.

Advocacy: Our multidisciplinary staff advocates strongly to ensure that young people experiencing a first episode psychosis and their families receive the best standards of care.
