Creating knowledge

The Nova Scotia Early Psychosis Program (NSEPP) is committed to increasing knowledge about psychosis through research and evaluation projects.

Current research projects

Our current projects include:

  • clinical trials of new antipsychotic medication
  • imaging studies of brain function and structure
  • studies of the predictors of long-term course and outcome
  • studies of cognition
  • studies of substance use in early psychosis
  • genetic studies

Do I have to participate?

If you’re involved in NSEPP, you may be asked to participate in research projects, but participation in research is completely voluntary. If you volunteer and change your mind, you can withdraw from the project at any time.

Please note: Refusing to participate in research will not affect the treatment or services you receive.
