Diversity in Leadership Fund

As part of the Faculty of Medicine’s efforts to advance equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, a fund was established by the Dean of Medicine to support participation in leadership development programs. This fund is available to designated group members with a position in the Faculty of Medicine and is available for leadership-oriented training/conferences occurring within April 1st, 2026, to March 31st, 2027.

Designated group members include:

• African Nova Scotian, Black Maritimer, Black Nova Scotian (without ties to a historic African Nova Scotian community), Black Canadian, Black/Indigenous
• First Nations from Atlantic Provinces, First Nation, Inuit, Metis born and raised outside of Atlantic Provinces, and Metis/ Innu/ Inuit from Atlantic Provinces
• Persons with disabilities
• Women
• Persons of minority sexual orientation and/or gender identities

Please note:

• This fund is open to Staff and Faculty across all Faculty of Medicine campuses and sites.
• The deadline for submissions is March 6, 2026.
• Applicants will be notified of the results by March 31, 2026.
• The committee’s decisions will be final.
• Unsuccessful applicants may reapply in future years
