A public seminar by the Picchione Visiting Scholar

Dr. Kornblihtt is a molecular biologist with expertise in regulation of transcription and mRNA processing. His research focuses on alternative mRNA splicing in mammalian cells. He is Plenary Professor at the Department of Physiology, Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Buenos Aires and Director of the Institute of Physiology, Molecular Biology and Neurosciences of Argentina’s National Research Council. He has been an International Research Scholar of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 2002. He is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA and a member of EMBO. He has received many prestigious awards including the Guggenheim fellowship, the TWAS prize in Medical Sciences (2012) and the Diamond Konex award as the most relevant scientist of the decade in his country.
