Welcome to CBMC. Our office of faculty development strives to support and enhance the skills, knowledge, and effectiveness of faculty members’ roles as teachers.
Our mandate: To support faculty at all teaching levels through a province-wide distributed delivery model.
Supporting our teaching faculty by:
- Effective, well-supported onboarding to the Faculty of Medicine's processes and policies
- Onboarding that supports teachers throughout their career, from new to experienced
- Developing programming that addresses identified priorities
- Identifying site- and department-level faculty development needs
- Offering provincial faculty development needs
- Providing a mix of in-person, virtual, and asynchronous online learning resources
CBMC Faculty Development supports Cape Breton faculty in their roles as educators. Our goal is to foster a culture of teaching that promotes engagement, inclusion, and a safe, healthy environment for both teaching and learning.
Our Team
The Office of Faculty Development at CBMC is part of the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine. Our Cape Breton-based team works closely with educational leaders and partners in the undergraduate and postgraduate programs to support faculty in their teaching and educational
