High-quality training throughout the Maritimes

As a Dalhousie resident, you'll have the benefit of learning in multiple settings in training sites across the Maritimes. From the region's best tertiary and quarternary care centres, to “private” rural and urban family and specialty practices, you'll be exposed to a broad range of learning environments. 

Simulation facilities in Halifax and Saint John provide opportunities to learn in a controlled setting. For instance, the Surgical Skills Lab allows surgical trainees to practise technical skills 24 hours a day. In research, Dalhousie residents have many opportunities to learn from top-notch teachers, with many residents going on to present their findings locally and at meetings around Canada and the world.
