Verifications of Postgraduate Medical Education Training
The Postgraduate Medical Education office is responsible for all current and former postgrad trainees and their training records, in the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University. We provide confidential composite verifications of training directly to credentialing and licensing bodies.
Verification services include the following:
Verification of internship
Verification of residency
Verification of fellowships (for departmental fellowships, contact department directly)
Verification of training with university seal
Replacement Certificate
PGME Dean’s Letter
Immunization Records
PGME does not offer notary public services. Should you require this service, please contact Dalhousie Legal Aid, ($10/signature - cash only) at 902-423-8105/legalaid@dal.ca
Verifications are processed, in batches, approximately once a month. We cannot accommodate urgent or verbal requests.
During peak periods (March to mid-July) requests may take 6-8 weeks to process. Due to resident registrations, we cannot process verifications in June.
Verification requests must include the following three items:

All verifications will be returned to you by email unless otherwise requested. Verifications can be returned by FedEx Courier upon request, but an additional fee applies ($30 within Canada; $45 to the USA).
