Pharmacology Graduate Student Bursary

The new Pharmacology Graduate Student Bursary (PGSB) [PDF - 266 KB] provides financial assistance for a highly qualified student undertaking graduate training in the Department of Pharmacology. It is intended to enhance the research capacity of the Department of Pharmacology by facilitating the recruitment and ongoing training of graduate students.

The Reynolds Postdoctoral Fellowship

This fellowship, which was endowed by the estate of Keith and Marion Reynolds in memory of their parents, provides successful applicants with one year of salary support (equivalent to the current CIHR level for postdoctoral fellows).

To qualify, you must either hold a PhD or be completing one. Plus, your proposed supervisor must be an eligible faculty member of Dalhousie’s Department of Pharmacology.

Once you’ve found a Department of Pharmacology faculty member to sponsor you, you’ll need to start the application process. Forward your curriculum vitae (Common CV - CIHR), a brief research proposal, three letters of support (one of which should be from the proposed supervisor), to the department by the 2nd Monday in September.

Pharmacology Summer Research Award (PSRA)

The Pharmacology Summer Research Award (PSRA) provides financial support for a highly qualified undergraduate student motivated to pursue a career in Pharmacology research. It is intended to provide a meaningful research experience for the student, to enhance the research capacity of the Department of Pharmacology and to encourage the pursuit of graduate studies within our department.

To qualify, you must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program (minimum in 2nd year of program), available to pursue a consecutive 16-week research project (May – August), and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required. Your proposed supervisor must be an eligible faculty member of Dalhousie’s Department of Pharmacology.

Once you’ve found a Department of Pharmacology faculty member to sponsor you, forward your curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages), student transcripts, a brief research proposal, and a letter of support from the proposed supervisor, to Lori.Lawson@dal.ca by March 15.
