To contribute to the international body of research on global surgery while developing greater interest within the department and university
Research is one of the central pillars of the GSO. Our aim is to contribute to the international body of research on global surgery while developing greater interest within the department and university. The GSO is actively involved with the African Research Group for Oncology (ARGO), with a current focus on the rising incidence of breast and colorectal cancer in Nigeria. The office has a mandate to foster collaborative research with surgeons in low- and middle-income countries, including new funding opportunities for local and international researchers at all levels of training.
