Clinical and research interests:
Dr. Wallace’s clinical practice involves the surgical management of benign and malignant diseases of the lung, pleura, mediastinum, and esophagus using minimally invasive and robotic techniques. As a surgeon-scientist, Dr. Wallace studies the molecular mechanisms by which smoke and other environmental exposures, such as radon, promote the development of lung diseases like cancer and COPD. Dr. Wallace is the holder of two patents related to the prevention and treatment of lung diseases. She has presented at numerous international conferences and published in multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Wallace has received awards and fellowships from the BC Lung Association, American Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Society, Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research, and Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
