Annapolis Valley
The Annapolis Valley stretches more than 100 km between the North Mountain and South Mountain ranges, from the Annapolis Basin in the west toward the Minas Basin in the east. The region is known for its agricultural landscape, farmers’ markets, orchards, vineyards, award-winning wineries, historic communities, and Acadia University in Wolfville. The Minas Basin, part of the Bay of Fundy system, is known for some of the highest tides in the world.
Communities throughout the Valley each have their own character, with access to arts and culture, museums, hiking and biking trails, live theatre, parks, recreational activities, cafés, restaurants, and specialty shops.
Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville serves as a regional referral center for Kings and Annapolis Counties and provides specialty services for the Annapolis Valley and parts of Western Nova Scotia. Learners may have opportunities to move between hospital and community settings, gaining exposure to both regional hospital care and community-based practice.
