Graduating the next generation of physician assistants

The Dalhousie Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program is dedicated to preparing highly skilled healthcare professionals ready to meet the growing demands of the Canadian healthcare system. Our rigorous curriculum combines comprehensive medical education with hands-on clinical experience, ensuring graduates are equipped to provide patient-centered care across various medical specialties. With a focus on collaborative practice, innovation, and leadership, we strive to develop compassionate and competent PAs who are committed to improving healthcare outcomes and advancing the profession in Canada.

Our committed faculty and administrative team are skilled in medical education, curriculum development, instructional design, clinical care, and health information collaborated in the development of our two-year, graduate-level PA program. The curriculum draws upon established best practices in medical education and practice, both at the national and international levels, and student input continues to provide invaluable insight into our program.

The approach to teaching and learning is patient-centered through case-based learning involving students learning in small groups. Combining academic excellence with practical, real-world experience, our program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care. Through a dynamic and supportive learning environment, we foster a deep understanding of collaborative healthcare, preparing PAs to work seamlessly with physicians and other medical professionals.
