Sonya Swift, MD, CCFP (PC)

Biography

Dr. Sonya Swift is a staff physician in Palliative Medicine. She earned a combined honours degree in Biology and Urban Planning, followed by her medical degree at Dalhousie University. She then completed a Family Medicine residency at Queen’s University. After several years practicing Family Medicine, she returned to Halifax to complete Enhanced Skills training in Palliative Medicine. Since then, she has worked exclusively in Palliative Care in Nova Scotia. Dr. Swift’s professional interests include education around the palliative approach to care and the management of complex pain.
