The foundation of excellent patient care
The Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation has a robust research program wherein all members are engaged in research activity as a principal investigator, co-investigator or research team member.
Our research projects are primarily interdisciplinary efforts with colleagues in neurology, psychology, neurosurgery and the Dalhousie Schools of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Health and Human Performance, as well as the Faculty of Engineering.
Our areas of research include:
- wheelchair safety and performance
- technology that supports rehabilitation care
- spasticity
- stroke and traumatic brain injury
- mobility and participation
- cognition
