Patient Care
Improving the lives of patients
Our division is a tertiary referral centre for patients with rheumatic disease throughout Atlantic Canada.
The clinical responsibilities of our physician members include inpatient consultations and ambulatory care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre and the IWK Health Centre, including:
- general rheumatology clinics
- the pulmonary arterial hypertension program
- the lupus clinic parenteral clinic
- the medical day unit
Our rheumatologists also provide 24-hour, seven-day emergency and on-call coverage for patients in Nova Scotia. They not only respond to calls for assistance from primary care physicians and general internists throughout Nova Scotia, they also contribute to the coverage schedule for the Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) Program.
