Financing your future

Finding full funding is critical to your acceptance into the Physiology and Biophysics graduate program. Your funding may come from a supervisor’s grant, an individual scholarship or a combination of both. Without full funding, we can’t accept you.

The full funding period is up to two years for MSc students and up to four years for PhD students. This is dependant upon annual written evidence of satisfactory progress, plus the availability of research funding support from the supervisor.

Please note: Income from teaching assistantships cannot be used towards full funding.

For the 2024-25 academic year, the minimum funding levels for graduate students in the department are as follows:

  • MSc students: $17,500 per year
  • PhD students: $21,500 per year

These funding amounts may vary based on individual circumstances and arrangements. Prospective students should discuss financial support options directly with their proposed supervisor before joining the program. Please note that students cannot be self-funded.
