Dr. John Carson Lecture Fund

Funding resident education

The Dr. John Carson Lecture Fund is an endowment fund that was set up to enrich the educational experience of our residents. It’s funded by Dalhousie University with the intent of encouraging leadership, the sharing of ideas and to generate interest in radiation oncology among our students, faculty and the public. 

Dr. Carson started our department's residency training program, mentored several current radiation oncologists and handled the bulk of the teaching for many years. He continued to teach the radiation biology component from Saint John until his retirement in 2012. John’s research activities earned him membership in Radiation Treatment Oncology Group - the premier radiation oncology-focused clinical trials group in the world.
