In 2024, the Dal Department of Psychiatry celebrated 75 years. To recognize this significant milestone, the department hosted two community engagement events — a public talk about new mental health services and a mental health mini-conference for front-line staff of community-based organizations serving people experiencing homelessness.

Four Dalhousie faculty members have received $7.5 million from Research Nova Scotia for two projects that will develop system-wide innovations for more supportive youth mental health and addictions care, and generate the resources needed for communities to come together and address local issues.
