Bioinformatics

We now offer bioinformatics services using the Illumina DRAGEN platform.

Illumina DRAGEN has a number of tools for secondary analysis including whole genome, single-cell, methylation, differential expression and many more.

What do I need to provide if my data was generated at the Dal Genomics Core?

If your data was generated here, then we just need the date and PI name associated with the project.

What do I need to provide if I generated my data elsewhere?

If your data wasn't genreated at the Dal Genomics Core then we just need a copy of your fastq files.

Can I run RNA Differential Expression analysis?

Yes you can. We will just need at least two control samples, and a list of the comparison samples.

Can you generate a list of variants in a genome fastq?

If it's a species with a reference file already in the DRAGEN tools then yes, we just need the fastq files and the species.

If it doesn't have a reference genome in DRAGEN we can generate one if there's a publically available one.

What outputs will I receive?

The outputs will depend on the type of analysis you request but common outputs are mapped bam's, variant lists, depth coverage data, fastqc data and differential expression analysis.

What are the fees?

We charge a flat fee of $100/hr.
