Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital

  • FMH has an active emergency room department providing service daily until 11 PM AST.
  • Services offered at FMH include: inpatient hospitalist, LIC and CRC level services, visiting disciplines including: urology, orthopedic surgery, palliative care, psychiatry, plastic surgery and internal medicine
  • There are 30 funded beds and 23 on the veterans unit.

In 1992, the South Shore Regional Hospital and Fishermen's Memorial Hospital merged under one Board of Directors to improve local health care services. South Shore Regional Hospital, which is located in Bridgewater, only 22 km from Lunenburg, complements the facilities and services offered in Lunenburg at the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital. Area residents have access to comprehensive and excellent health care delivery.
