Excellence in lifelong learning
The Division of Neurology offers a wide range of teaching programs that span undergraduate medical education, residency training, and continuing professional development for physicians.
As a medical student or neurology resident, you will learn and train at the QEII Health Sciences Centre and the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. The QEII Health Sciences Centre is the largest academic health centre in Atlantic Canada and the IWK Health Centre provides pediatric and obstetric care to children, women and youth in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Training sites offer you clinical and educational experiences working directly with patients. There are 33 beds on the inpatient neurology services at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, as well as more than 250 beds and 52 residents in the internal medicine and subspecialty programs.
Neurology programs and sub-specialties work closely together and with many other clinical units, so you will have unprecedented learning opportunities within the various sub-specialties as well as with multi-disciplinary teams.
