Undergraduate Education

Becoming familiar with rheumatology

Since the Division of Rheumatology is actively involved with Dalhousie University’s undergraduate medical education curriculum, you will start learning about the specialty early on.

As a second-year medical student, you'll attend five 3-hour bedside teaching sessions covering history-taking and physical examinations pertaining to the musculoskeletal system. These sessions will be complemented by lectures and case-based learning offered during the musculoskeletal and dermatology unit.

Clinical rheumatology is a popular choice for elective and selective rotations during first- and second-year, as well as during the final clerkship year.
