Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)

The mission of CIHR, the Government of Canada’s health research investment agency, is to support the creation of new scientific knowledge. The goal is to improve the health of all Canadians by providing better health services and products, and by improving the Canadian healthcare system.

Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation

This is an external funding agency that was developed with the intention of supporting Dalhousie medical research, with a focus on Dalhousie Medical School's areas of research emphasis:

  • neuroscience
  • cancer
  • cardiovascular research
  • immunity, inflammation and infectious diseases

National Eye Institute

The National Eye Institute operates within the National Institutes of Health.
Their mission is to “conduct and support research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to blinding eye diseases, visual disorders, mechanisms of visual function, preservation of sight, and the special health problems and requirements of the blind.”
