Serving and Engaging Society


Serving and Engaging Society is a strategic direction in the Department of Psychiatry 2026-2031 Strategic Plan. A Serving and Engaging Society Committee advances the department’s strategic goal to: close gaps in serving equity-denied groups and becoming a more trusted partner to community.

The Serving and Engaging Society Committee includes:

  • Members from different department groups and committees, including EDIRA and Wellness
  • Members from community partner organizations
  • Those with lived experience

The Serving and Engaging Society Fund is an internal funding opportunity that encourages academic initiatives, in collaboration with community partners, in the areas of education, clinical care, or research.

The fund is available to all members of the Dalhousie Department of Psychiatry.
