Dr. Guida is a PhD scientist who is based at BIOTIC. He works alongside Dr. Steven Beyea and our other BIOTIC scientists leading the machine learning and data science components of the running research projects. Dr. Guida has experience in medical imaging and omics technologies (genomics, transcriptomics, and radiomics), he provides student supervision as well as develops AI models applied to medical imaging
His research interest consists in using data and machine learning to promote the development of new methodologies that can be translated from research into the diagnostic field. Examples include the application of deep learning to predict cancer versus non-cancer in biomedical images, design of new genomic screening panel for specific tumor types, development of statistical tools, and creation of data products to aid the clinical routine.
