About

Dr. Maguire is a dual-certified Nuclear Medicine/Diagnostic Radiology Specialist at QEII. He has had a long career in academic medicine and clinical program development. Clinical program highlights include introducing PET/CT imaging to the University of Alberta Hospital, and more recently participating in the development of a world-class Nuclear and Molecular Medicine facility housed in a new building in St. John’s Newfoundland, including a cyclotron to support a comprehensive PET imaging and theranostics service. Dr. Maguire has has served in numerous leadership roles starting as Chief of Nuclear Medicine at the University of Alberta in 1991, Program Director of Nuclear Medicine University of Alberta, Royal College Duties, and more recently Academic Chair of Radiology Memorial University of Newfoundland (One Term Starting in 2014). He was awarded the Order of Canada in 2023.
