Dalhousie's reputation as a leader in higher education has a lot to do with the incredible efforts and ingenuity of the university's faculty and instructors. Year after year, they push the boundaries of teaching and explore its power to unlock potential in students in new ways.
Regular testing is an important part of stopping the spread of COVID-19 and keeping one another safe. To make access to testing even more convenient for the Dal community, the university has collaborated with Nova Scotia Public Health to offer a self-swab COVID-19 rapid screening program, which launched on June 8 as a pilot project in preparation for the fall.
This year, nearly 50 students worked with 27 community partners in Halifax and Saint John – the highest number of community partners the program has ever worked at one time – to complete collaborative projects that addressed advocacy for health care in priority communities identified as marginalized and underserved populations.
