Postgraduate trainee well-being

Dalhousie Medical School is committed to providing its trainees with a learning environment that is free of harassment and mistreatment. All learners, faculty and staff within the medical school and postgraduate training programs share responsibility for establishing and maintaining a climate of respect, and for taking appropriate steps to seek advice and/or address harassment and mistreatment when it occurs.

If you have a complaint of postgraduate trainee mistreatment--whether it involved you or another trainee--it's important to report it. It's also important to acknowledge professionalism in action.

Residents experiencing mistreatment in the workplace are encouraged to contact us (dalhousiemedicine.confidenceline.com) for confidential support and advocacy. If residents feel they have been sexually harassed or harassed/discriminated against on the basis of a protected characteristic under the Human Rights Act, they may also want to contact the Dalhousie Office of Human Rights, Equity and Harassment Prevention at: 902-494-6672 or at hrehp@dal.ca
