Our goal is to improve resident mental health and well being of Dalhousie medical residents.

There are numerous wellness resources and supports available to residents. We have highlighted a few as outlined below. Take some time to explore and become familiar with the various materials and supports.

Maritime Resident Doctors

Resident well-being is also a very important part of Maritime Resident Doctors. Residents are very busy and often aren't able to find the time to enjoy their life outside of work hours. In addition to negotiating the Collective Agreement and improving working conditions, Maritime Resident Doctors works constantly to improve the well-being of its members. 

Doctors Nova Scotia Professional Support Program (PSP) 

Doctors Nova Scotia Professional Support Program (PSP) offers confidential help to practicing and retired physicians, residents, medical students, and their families who are experiencing problems - whether they are personal or professional, financial or psychological, psychiatric or addictive.

New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS)

New Brunswick Medical Society, www.nbms.nb.ca NBMS Wellness provides support to all members, including residents, who may be having difficulty coping with demands of practice, relationships addiction, and other mental health or life challenges. NBMS supports residents in protecting their resiliency and finding the joy in medicine and in life. Check out their Resident Orientation Guide here for more information on the support they can provide.
