Create a few different scenarios
We recommend that you create a couple different scenarios of how your electives will be scheduled, particularly since many schools across Canada require that you apply a minimum of three months in advance.

The AFMC Portal
Once you have an elective plan for your final year, you are ready to set up your registration with “The AFMC Student Portal”
The Portal is an online, bilingual service to facilitate the application and placement of medical students for undergraduate visiting electives at the 17 faculties of medicine in Canada.
The AFMC Student Portal services include a searchable database for visiting electives in Canada; an online application process for Canadian and international students; and placement and confirmation tracking tools for elective coordinators at each faculty.
