Pictou

Pictou County offers a welcoming, down-to-earth community where learners quickly feel at home. With Aberdeen as the central hub and experiences across nearby towns, you’ll see how care is delivered in both hospital and community settings. It’s a great place to learn how medicine connects closely with the people and communities it serves.

The Aberdeen Regional Hospital in New Glasgow, serves as the primary academic hub for the Pictou County LIC, hosting the majority of specialties and hospital-based learning experiences.  Learners are integrated into a collaborative and supportive healthcare environment that serves the broader Pictou County region.

Your longitudinal Family Medicine experience may be based in New Glasgow or one of the surrounding communities, including Pictou, Stellarton or Westville, providing a comprehensive family medicine experience in a variety of community settings.
