Improving the care and outcomes for people with kidney disease
The Division of Nephrology is actively engaged in local, national and international research collaboration, and our faculty members have led several clinical trials and prospective studies. We are involved in outcomes research and quality improvement initiatives in chronic kidney disease, dialysis and kidney transplantation. Our experienced researchers have received extensive grant funding support and have published a number of high-impact papers.
Our research program includes two full-time kidney transplant/nephrology research coordinators, as well as multidisciplinary staff, including pharmacists, research database specialists and a quality improvement leader.
We highly encourage and support student involvement in research. Trainees from all levels gain exposure to clinical epidemiology, including principles of study design, research methodology and critical appraisal. Many of our trainees have presented at national and international meetings, published high-quality studies and become leaders in the field of research.
