About
Well-rounded in excellent clinical care, education and research
Medical students and residents have the opportunity to study, diagnose, research and treat kidney disease within the Division of Nephrology. For patients across Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, we provide specialized consultative care, pre-dialysis follow-up and education, and coordination of home dialysis.
Division members are clinicians, educators and researchers. We deliver exceptional patient care while fostering a supportive training and education environment. We also conduct leading research, particularly in the areas of:
- dialysis therapy and outcomes
- health economic research in relation to chronic and diabetic renal disease
- renal transplant immunosuppression
- Fabry disease
As an academic division, we participate in and support national and international efforts to improve health outcomes for people living with kidney diseases.
