As a postdoctoral fellow (PDF) at Dalhousie University, you’ll expand your horizons by working with other well-respected research scholars from all over the world. Together, you’ll have the opportunity to make an impact in the important research we’re doing at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.

The postdoctoral experience

We want our PDFs to learn as much as they can. That’s why we feel that it’s important to focus on nurturing the goals and advancing the careers of each PDF who joins our program.

When you become a PDF, you’ll benefit from the expertise of our faculty members as you begin to develop your own research concepts. These ideas can translate into bigger projects, leading to publications and/or a grant application.

And the learning goes both ways. Not only will you learn from a variety of professional development seminars and workshops, you’ll also have plenty of opportunity to hone your teaching skills by working with graduate and undergraduate students.

An important choice

By participating in this program, you could join the ranks of our many successful former PDFs. Recent PDFs have moved into respected and worthwhile positions in both industry and academia after completing this comprehensive training program.
